With its 4,400 hectares. The Forêt de Soignes is one of the exceptional natural sites in Europe. This vast wooded area is located on the outskirts of Brussels, more precisely south-east of Brussels. Its location on the edge of a big city makes it a popular place to relax for walkers, on foot, by bike or on horseback. Often regarded as “the green lung of the city.

Many walks are possible in the Forest. Itineraries are available in the Tiny House.

Explore a variety of curiosities in the Soignes Forest and its surroundings by bicycle. On, you will find a number of cycling routes through the Forêt de Soignes, marked, digitized and downloadable on your smartphone.

A 200m walk from the Tiny House, you will find a multitude of restaurants; Belgian, French, Italian and even Indian cuisine. You will be spoiled for choice. Here are our favorites

Le Pain Quotidien

The first Le Pain Quotidien opened in Brussels in 1990 and is now also available in New York but also at a walking distance the Tiny House. Fresh-baked, traditionally made bread has become a tradition for neighbors and friends at over 260 Le Pain Quotidien locations throughout the world.

Restaurant la Forêt

Brewery. In this restaurant you can enjoy great flavors and culinary delights that make up the richness of Belgian cuisine. A Belgian menu, with pavé-béarnaise and homemade fries, dumplings with tomato sauce or ham with mustard (for big appetites). Closed Wednesday, Thursday.

L'auberge bretonne

Traditional restaurant. L’ Auberge Bretonne has been a family home for more than half a century. The welcome is warm, in a renovated decor that has lost none of its rustic character. The menu offers a wide choice of traditional dishes of French cuisine and the cellar contains no less than 500 wines. The desserts are not to be outdone: the traditional "French comedy" pancake or the sabayon prepared in the dining room is worth the detour. Closed Monday evening, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Alain Bianchin

Gourmet restaurant with 1 Michelin star, 16.5 / 20 with Gault & Millau. It was in February 2015 that Alain Bianchin opened his restaurant on the edge of the Forêt de Soignes. From his semi-open kitchen, the chef sends dishes that are marked by daily arrivals. Closed Saturday noon, Sunday and Monday.
